Joaquín is the regional program officer for Latin America and the Caribbean for the Blue Nature Alliance and is in charge of developing and nurturing strong relationships with government staff, community, and civil society leadership to develop and implement large-scale ocean conservation projects in the region. Before joining the Alliance, he practiced natural resources law and more recently oversaw the National Directorate of Marine Protected Areas at the Argentine National Parks Administration where he helped to designate and implement offshore marine protected areas and develop marine conservation policy at a national level. Joaquín holds a Bachelor of Laws at the Catholic University of Argentina and a Master of Laws at the University of New South Wales of Australia. In his free time, Joaquin enjoys surfing, kitesurfing and being outdoors.
