Nico is the Regional Lead for Africa for the Alliance and is responsible for developing new partnerships to increase ocean protection and to improve capacities for management effectiveness of protected areas, secure sustainable conservation finance and monitoring, control and surveillance. He holds a MSc in International Fisheries Management from the University of Tromsö, Norway and professional certificates in Circular Economics, ESG and Climate Risk assessment from the Corporate Finance Institute. Nico brings more than 20 years of professional experience in project and program design and management, M&E, enviro-social and techno-financial project feasibility analysis, environmental and climate policy development and private equity and venture capital. He is a certified and accredited meditation teacher and practitioner and enjoys playing string and percussion instruments, doing yoga and being outdoors.
